Transamerica Capital appoints channel wholesalers

Financial-product distributor looks to boost sales for IDEX family of funds. Transamerica Capital has appointed three divisional wholesalers to spearhead regional distribution for its IDEX multi-manager mutual funds to banks and broker-dealers.

Aggressive expansion

"We continue an aggressive sales expansion program and these latest moves will bolster sales efforts with a focused approach to wholesaling our award-winning family of funds," says Michael Petko, head of mutual-fund sales at Transamerica Capital. "I am pleased to have the opportunity to bring such quality leadership to the team."

Doug St. Myer, western divisional v.p. for IDEX bank-channel sales, had been a previously regional v.p. at Transamerica Capital. Scott Ramey, eastern divisional v.p. for sales to the same channel, comes from Wachovia's retail retirement group. Rob Thompson, eastern sales head for IDEX sales to broker-dealers, was last at Wachovia's Evergreen Investments.

Denver, Colo.-based Transamerica Capital is a subsidiary of AEGON. St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Transamerica IDEX has more $11 billion in assets under management. -FWR
